NFTs Got Me Boba & Free Food
It's happened everyone. My NFTs from July 2022 got me food in January 2023. Hell yeah!
Hi there,
This is it everyone.
The sequel you’ve all been waiting for to my 2022 hit piece “NFTs = Free Food?”. The answer is, yes, the NFT can get me food. And I’ve had my share.
If you are in Long Beach, CA - you have the most options here and I’m jealous.
Anyway,
Cheers!

Here’s My Food NFT
TL;DR: The guy behind After’s Ice Cream has this food-based NFT collection that helps drive traffic to the hype-based restaurants that have partnered to be part of the network.
About 6 months ago I pulled the plug and bought the Food Fighter Universe NFTs. I used my cryptomining earnings to mint the two NFTs because 1) I’m bad at figuring out what NFTs to buy and 2) I’m pretty easy to convince if you say there is food. Source: I studied accounting because the accounting society at my school had free pizza Mondays and Wednesdays.
And the boba I got:
This is boba from “Loose Leaf Boba Company”, a boba chain that is part of own approved boba vendors. That’s right I have my own hit list of bobas and also a shit list too.
Anyway - I was surprised when that showed up and I instantly knew: I’m getting boba.
It’s not clear what the purchase limit is, but I did get a pricey than usual drink. I’ll let you all know how it fairs with the other restaurants as I make my way to them.

The Process to Claiming Food Tickets
TL;DR: its quirky.
Here’s how I claimed it
As a holder, I went to the FFU Discord and click on the provided link from a validated community moderator.
I connected my wallet that held my NFTs and let it validate that I was a holder.
I selected where I wanted to redeem my meal - I chose boba
I was given a ticket with a QR Code. I go to establishment, and show said code (not the NFT).

You can use coinbase wallet too.
You redeem your restaurant using your NFT
I have two NFTs. So whomever wants food that month can meet me at any of the affiliate restaurants. ;)
You Collect your Ticket
It is relatively simple on the digital side of things.
In practice, I went to the store and the boba barista was seeing this QR code for the first time. She did her best, got her shift lead, who also was seeing it for the first time. and manually “redeemed” the voucher.
Get Your Own?
TL;DR: $100-150.
If you want to give it a try, I would caution you at the project’s long term longevity. The community has gone quieter as the massive torrent of rushers are gone, and the project itself taking a new direction.
However, if you have 0.10 ETH ($100-$150 atm), you can go get yourself an NFT here. If Boba costs $7 per boba, it will take you 21 months to pay it back. If you want a $15 burger at Bored and Hungry, it will take you 10 months to pay it back.
I will 100% milk it all the way.
